My family does not like raisins either; I figure I can always put raisins on one side and not the other and when I roll it up and cut it - I will have it with raisins and without raisins. | Mangetout | Mar 11, 4:34am | You could use something else instead of the raisins - chopped glace cherries, smashed hazelnuts, probably chocolate chips (although maybe not with cinnamon).
If you make them without any filling at all, I don't think they'll retain the spiral shape and you might as well just roll the dough into little balls and squish them.
(I also don't know how nice they'll be without any filling - as what you have then is essentially just sweet shortcrust pastry) |
